Marianne is a former trial attorney, business development and marketing expert, author, life and executive coach, entrepreneur, and former law professor (and a mom!).

Marianne's background in law and business is wide-ranging. As a trial attorney, Marianne handled complex civil litigation and civil rights matters in New York, Washington D.C., and Virginia, in majority part as the protégé of Philip J. Hirschkop, one of the legendary lawyers who won the landmark case of Loving v. Virginia before the Supreme Court of the United States. She also was an adjunct law professor at the American University, Washington College of Law and the George Washington University Law School.  In addition to practicing complex commercial litigation with Mr. Hirschkop for over a decade, Marianne was a litigator with two boutique firms in New York City. Marianne has written and spoken widely on many business and legal topics, and has delivered numerous CLE programs on numerous topics, including business development and attorney advertising ethics.

After retiring from the practice of law, Marianne founded her own company, coaching high-achieving professionals in New York City and designing business development plans for her clients and the businesses they ran. Marianne is currently a business development professional, executive coach, alumni program lead, and diversity and inclusion strategist at Blank Rome LLP, an AmLaw 100 firm with 14 offices in the United States and Shanghai, where she delivers coaching and training programs to partners and associates, is a lead marketer for numerous firm-wide practice groups and cross-marketing initiatives, and is a leading organizer for numerous projects to support diverse attorneys in the development of their practices, including its celebrated annual Women’s Leadership Summits. Marianne has extensive nonprofit experience as well, including as the interim executive director of a child welfare nonprofit in East Harlem, NYC.

Marianne is  admitted to the bars of the Supreme Court of the United States, Virginia, New York, and Washington, D.C.  She currently lives in the Washington, D.C. area with her husband and daughter.  Her approach to life is embodied in the iconic quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson:

“Nothing great was ever created without enthusiasm.”
